DESIGN

We understand that your dream home includes a one-of-a-kind design plan with a unique vision. Choosing a pre-drawn catalog plan will not work for you, and this is why we have created our Design and Drafting department. Country Road Rustic Homes in conjunction with Natural Element Homes offers a full-service, in-house design team that is committed to making your dreams a reality. During the design phase, you will work one-on-one with our designers, start from scratch or alter plans according to your requirements, and most importantly, see your home through a 3-D virtual tour. Our goal as a customized log home builder is to ensure your home not only meets, but exceeds your personal dreams and vision. Our timber frame builders and design team has nearly 100 years of combined home design experience and will deliver your dreams into a buildable home plan, even if your plan is unclear in the meantime.

MATERIALS

Once your home’s design has been planned, our log home builders will help you select your materials and finishes. While there are many options in the materials and finishes phase, our customized log home designers will keep you on track during the process. Our timber frame home experts will help you make the best choices for your budget, but will also ensure you receive the most attractive home possible. After selecting your materials and finishes, our timer log home specialist will determine the cost of your Natural Element Home package. You can also choose to have us as your builder or construction manager, and we will take that into consideration when providing an ultimate cost. If the necessary costs fall within your budget, we are ready to proceed with a contract and choose a construction start date. If for any reason, total costs fall over your budget, our team will take your plans back to the drawing board and create a new design to lower the building costs for your future timber frame home. Working with Country Road Rustic Homes and Natural Element Homes is a joyous experience. Our timber frame home builders and design experts walk you through the entire process, ensuring your dreams and visions meet your budget and result in a beautiful customized log home.

BUILD

Once your timber frame home’s construction drawings are finalized and you have selected all the necessary materials and finishes, it is time to build your customized log home! You have many options when it comes to the construction of your home. Get Rid of Guesswork and Get Started on Your Dream Home!

The first phase of our home building process is known as the “discovery phase.” This is where our log home building company talks with you to define your design and size, wants and desires, and lastly cost and budget. Once our team understands these three items, you will receive a better idea of the type of home you should build. Our discovery phase helps you learn more about the three driving forces that affect your final costs. Review our more detailed information below so you can set a realistic expectation for your ultimate timber frame or log home:

DESIGN & SIZE

The design and size of your home have a major impact on building costs. For example, a 2,000 square foot, single-level home with a wraparound porch and offsets will typically cost more than a 2,000 square foot box, two-story home. This is because the one-story home will have twice as much foundation, roof area, and wall area as the two-story home. Because of the extra building materials, the single story home will cost more to build. A two-story square or rectangle “box” styled home with higher-end finishes may cost less than a home with an irregular shape, various offsets, and lower-end finishes.

FINISHES, WANTS & DESIRES

There are many available items for your timber frame or log home. Choose between: heavy timbers, log walls, exposed beams, high-quality wall-coverings, metal roofs, vaulted ceilings, custom cabinets, high-end appliances, hardwood flooring, imported tile and granite, and large fireplaces and outdoor decks. While these are items most typically want in their log or timber frame home, it’s important to take a look at your budget first.

COST & BUDGET

If you are one of the fortunate few with an unlimited budget, congratulations! However, most looking for a log home builder have a budget. Country Road Rustic Homes has the expertise to help you balance your wants and desires with your costs and budget.

If these three items sound great to you, we are good to go! Do not be discouraged if you are hesitant or still have questions– that is what our team is here for. The timber frame and log home building process often involves difficult and stressful decisions, and our home building experts are here to help you reallocate your wants and budget to ensure you still receive a beautiful and elegant home. Each case is different, and our team members will help you based on your individual circumstance.
